Paul George was born and raised in Palmdale, California on May 2, 1990. Basketball was a popular sport in the George household and Paul spent most of his childhood playing one on one against his older sister Teiosha who ended up playing college ball at Pepperdine. Growing up, Paul's favorite NBA player was Kobe Bryant and he always tried to mimic his on court moves.
Those moves started to gain some attention his freshman year of high school when he played for Pete Knight High School. Paul had a very solid high school career but even though he was successful, he wasn't very heavily recruited by college coaches. In 2007, Paul George decided to follow in his older sister's footsteps and played basketball for Pepperdine his freshman, sophomore and junior years. However, his senior year he transferred to Fresno State due to his coach, Vance Walberg leaving the program.
Paul was able to obtain a lot of playing time from Fresno State and averaged 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game. He was also a fantastic free throw shooter at 90 percent. In the spring of 2010 Paul George entered into the NBA draft. He was the 10th overall pick and went to play for the Indiana Pacers.
Paul George has steadily improved his game year after year at Indiana. In the 2012 season with the injury of Danny Granger, Paul was given the chance to shine for his new team.
